Ronald C Bates, 86 of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was the loving husband of Marie C. (Tedeschi) Bates for 62 Years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Milton Hawkins Sr. and Virginia E. (Bates) Hawkins.

Ronald was a graduate of Warwick Veterans High School and received an Associate’s Degree from CCRI. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years and went on to work as the Managing Programmer for the Hallmark Healey Company until his retirement. Ronald was a communicant of St. Timothy Church in Warwick.

Alongside his wife Marie, he is survived by his beloved son, Ronald M. Bates and his wife Donna of Randolph, MA, his sister, Carolyn Fontaine of North Kingstown, along with his granddaughter, Alexia Grabowski and her husband Dustin, and his grandson Nicholas Bates. He is also survived by his two great grandchildren, Braeden and Colbie Grabowski, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Milton Hawkins, Jr.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 8:30AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Timothy's Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in West Warwick.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 5:00PM-7:00PM at the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Timothy's Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889.
